Bagan Lalang is a quaint seaside village off the Malacca Straits. Palm trees
sway in the breeze and the sun sets in the horizon, behind the waves. There is a
jetty where the fishermen dock their boats and unload the daily catch. It is no
surprise that Bagan Lalang boasts some of the best seafood dishes, since the
catch is fresh from the sea, not frozen. But during the day, the restaurants are
mostly closed. They only come alive late in the afternoon, and stay open until
early morning. All the better, because the patrons come from far and wide.
For longer visits, accommodation is available in the form of halets. The
complex also has meeting rooms and other facilities that cater to the leisure
visitors and also business travellers. The beaches stretch for kilometres, and
about 25 acres of the area along the beach has been developed to give visitors a
great and comfortable time at Bagan Lalang. |
